Premier League Barometer

Who's Hot

  • Kaka

Chelsea appeared to have been priced out of a move for the Brazil ace, only to stun the football world with a reported £73.5m bid. If true, it would represent one of the greatest gazumpings of all time.

  • Christian Benitez

The little Ecuadorean joined Birmingham for a club-record £6.5m. A coup for the Blues and a chance for him to shine on the world stage.

  • Nemanja Vidic

Florentino Perez has tweaked his Galactico strategy to acknowledge that defenders win titles, if reports are to be believed. Vidic is tipped to move in a £30m deal.

  • Diego Forlan

The Atletico Madrid striker has been linked to Real Madrid as well as Barcelona after Madrid decided that Valencia's asking price for David Villa is too high. And to think he was linked to Sunderland last summer.

  • Gareth Barry

A loser yesterday, but if reports are to be believed he is on over £100k a week at City. For that wage I would probably remove my teeth, replace them with metal ones, and eat concrete.

Who's Not

  • Tony Adams

A candid interview in which Adams claimed he was set to form a Celtic management team with Wim Jansen has been dismissed as "garbage" by the club. There is a fear Adams could have gone mad.

  • Robinho

The inconsistent Brazilian star has been linked with a move to former club Santos. Either he is depressed in Europe or the owner of the Brazilian club is blowing his own trumpet.

  • David Trezeguet

Keen to leave Juventus, he is being priced out of a move by the club, leaving Marseille boss Didier Deschamps to describe a potential deal as "not possible".

  • Tuncay

Fulham are a great little club but earlier in the season the Middlesbrough playmaker was being linked to far more illustrious West London rivals Chelsea. Relegation appears to have harmed his stock.

  • Florentino Perez

The returning Real Madrid president has started where he left off, unsettling the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka. Why does he not focus on David Villa and David Silva, Spanish and half the price?
